Pear Bear

Hi, I'm Anjoulina, I'm a Red Anjou pear.

I was raised in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. Oregon and Washington are the two highest pear-growing states in the country. I think that's pretty neat! If you look on a map and find Wenatchee and Yakima in Washington state, and Hood River and Medford in Oregon state, you'll see where USA Pears are grown.

I like going to my dance class and making paintings and other art projects. Artists need to have sharp senses so I like to eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day to make sure I'm getting all the good vitamins and nutrition I need. Five servings seem like a lot, but its not very hard to eat them when you know how big a serving size is. Do you know what a serving size of fruit is? For pears, a serving size is a pear about the size of a baseball.

During the school year, I like to come home and practice my dance moves to the latest music, but it's fun to dance to the oldies too! My parents give me a fruit or veggie snack and I finish my homework so I can work on my art projects or talk with my friends on the phone before dinner. On weekends, my friends and I like to have slumber parties and go to the movies.
